About ODL
What is ODL?
Open and Distance Learning (ODL) is a method of teaching and learning that offers flexible and accessible to learning opportunities to anyone, anywhere, and at any time.
Why ODL?
Potential students who are unable to take advantage of learning opportunities where they are offered will find ODL to be very helpful. For these learners, learning opportunities must be provided at a time and place that is most convenient for them and their circumstances. ODL also gives students options for entry and exit points, as well as course selection, making it especially appropriate for lifelong learners who want to continue their education while working or doing household duties.
How is ODL conducted?
ODL approaches employ a wide range of technology to fill the gap left by students' physical separation from lecturers and the educational setting. Digital learning resources (SIM), video lecture recordings, and an e-learning platform are some examples of ODL approaches.
